Mama & Daddy's Night Out

We unfortunately don't get to go out alone too much. Babysitters are hard to come by overseas. And it's quite a lot to ask anyone to watch 2 infants by themselves. I know, it's hard for me and I'm their Mama! But Andrew and I are committed to trying to stay connected as a couple. This is important now more than ever, because it's easy to let our lives be consumed by twins. They are at a very needy stage still.

Our friend Jeanette graciously offered to watch M&M while we went out one evening. Very generous indeed considering she has two of her own and a husband at home who rely on her. But she loves babies and could obviously tell we needed a break. What a treat!

As you can see M&M loved her and seemed perfectly content. So after going over a page full of instructions and walking Jeanette through the routine...OK, OK I'm a little controlling...we were off for a nice dinner!

Andrew made reservations at Monsoon, a beautiful Thai/Japanese restaurant downtown. One of the great things about being here is the fabulous, world-class cuisine. I mean every nationality you can think of.

We had sushi and spicy Thai entrees that were so yummy. The atmosphere and service was unbelievable...so was the price! But well worth it.

After dinner we did some rug shopping and then came home. We are planning on investing in some rugs while we're here but are still shopping around...there's a lot to learn about buying the right one, at the right shop!

So nice to enjoy a night out with my husband knowing that M&M are being well taken care of. Thanks Jeanette!

Good for you!!! Those date nights are so important... you didn't write about it, but did you talk about the twins the whole time:) Glad you all enjoyed some time out together!
